My day Friday started out HORRIBLE!!!! First of all I over slept - not hearing my alarm. Was awakened by JoAnn ringing my door bell non-stop and then pounding on another door. (Never take a sleeping pill the night before a early morning trip) Didn't hear my alarm..... She was practically panicing - said her heart was beating furiously......It was 4:30 and we were to meet the bus at 5:30 about 20 minutes from here. I soothed her and said - don't worry we have plenty time - I will skip my shower and hair, suitcase was already packed so I threw on my clothes and a bit of makeup (can't go out of the house without a little makeup). She put my suitcase in her car and I only missed a couple of things I was going to add. We made it in plenty time - actually the first one there. Only 5 going out of Parkersburg and we picked up more at a couple of other stops - on our way.
We had a little time to freshen up before going out to a seafood place for dinner. Our rooms were very nice, ocean front on the boardwalk and have a full kitchen and sitting area - which we didnt use. Dinner was unreal. Everyone had the same. Chicken, fish, shrimp and scallops scampi, buttered new potatos, salad, veggies and fruity cheesecake. Such a waste. There was enough food for 3 people - served to each of us. JoAnn didn't like shrimp so I ate her shrimp along with mine. Some didn't want their chicken so we swapped. Saturday was a free day so several of us opted to go to a neighboring town for some browsing. That was where we were in the picture I sent of us sitting on the resturant porch with tea and lemonade. We had the bus driver drop us at "Spring Fest" at the other end of the Boardwalk and we browsed the Arts and Crafts set up in hugh tents, before taking the trolly back to our hotel. We were about froze. Had it not been so cold, we would have stayed for a couple more hours.
We thought it was going to be warm all weekend and did not count on 60 degree and high winds. JoAnn said we will probably get sick from it. After warming up we had hamburgers in the hotel resturant and took strawberry dakari's to our room. This morning we had free until 11 and then drove to the island with the horses. Even with the cold, we had a great time. Met new friends on the bus and laughed a lot.
